The Odyssey is a service of Hit-Mix 88.9 WEIU-FM; it is WEIU’s hip-hop/hard rock station and is offered exclusively online. The Odyssey is a training ground for EIU students and the starting point for future Hit-Mix broadcasters. It also serves as a broadcasting source for students in Communications Studies and Journalism classes at EIU. Each semester, these students work in The Odyssey as part of their coursework for broadcast announcing and newswriting.
