Chef Kotaro Meguro of the one-Michelin-starred French restaurant "abysse" in Daikanyama visits "Suzuki Morihisa Studio," specializing in Nanbu Tekki ironware in Iwate Prefecture. While maintaining the tradition and prestige of having served the Nanbu domain for generations since the Edo period, this workshop now offers castings that are easy to use in daily life. He gets in touch with the techniques cultivated over a long time and with the spirit of craftsmanship.

Born in Kanagawa Prefecture in 1985. After learning at the renowned "Le Petit Nice" in Marseille and "Quintessence" in Shinagawa, Tokyo, he opened his own restaurant, "abysse," in 2015. Currently based in Daikanyama, Tokyo, he serves seafood cuisine and has received one Michelin star from Michelin Tokyo.
"HUMAN ODYSSEY" is a documentary film series in which creators who passionately pursue creation embark on a journey to discover craftsmanship. Calligrapher Daichiro Shinjo, architect Tsuyoshi Tane, roboticist Tomotaka Takahashi, photographer Kazuhei Kimura, chef Kotaro Meguro, and ceramic artist Raku Kichizaemon XVI. The six travel to different parts of Japan and France, and their new encounters lead to the creation of the next generation.
