Canada-based James Kerr’s animations put a cheeky spin on historical art classics. Drawing from old, often religious paintings, Kerr’s collages dour-faced historical figures into absurdist modern landscapes. A nobleman roasting marshmallows gets abducted by aliens; Jesus plays golf and cheats using his miraculous hands. For Gucci Ace he charts an animated day in the life of the shoe, from its 7am wakeup to a romantic sunset date on a beach.
