So, people seem either interested, confused or jealous as @#$@# so I put a screen shot of the eq and multiband compression settings at the end of the vid and here, in this description, I'll say a bit more.
First, there is no autotune on this. None, nada, zero. I did that because people apparently think autotune magically turns anyone into a great singer. So, I decided to NOT add autotune to this.
Next, the signal chain is CAD M179 mic into ISA One preamp into Clarett 2Pre preamp into PC into Reaper (the DAW).
Next, I DID pitch shift my voice up by 3 semitones just so I wouldn't have to strain my deep-ass, bass-singing voice any more than I have to. I could sing this one w/o shifting but I decided it'd just be easier to shift it a little and give me an easier time singing it.
The MAIN thing to get this sound is....
A) sound like Joe Walsh (timbre)
B) SING like Joe Walsh (slides up and down to pitches and wiiide vibrato)
C) EQ the crap out of it by removing most of the low end and some of the very high end, as you can see in the EQ curve at the end of the video.
D) add a HINT of delay and verb, not much.
E) resing the chorus on a new track and SPLIT the audio into a pseudo-stereo effect by adding a digital delay to THAT TRACK and setting the dry signal to ZERO and the wet to 100% and then have TWO TAPS, one set left, one set panned to the right and set ONE OF THEM to delay the signal by 20 to 30 ms.
So, now you can sound like Joe Walsh in your vocal covers. Good luck!
