Happy Together - The Turtles cover - Ken Tamplin Vocal Academy
“Happy Together” is a song of pop perfection.
Written by Garry Bonner and Alan Gordon, legend has it that the demo acetate was worn out as it had been rejected a dozen times before it was offered to the Turtles. The single replaced the Beatles' "Penny Lane" at number one on the Billboard Hot 100 in the spring of 1967. The Turtles' only No. 1 remained there for three weeks.
This reminds me of times my older brother Richard used to play songs like “Wendy” and “Happy Together”. We’d pillow fight over songs like that then turn around and play really dark songs like Dead on Arrival. Haha those were the days! Eclectic taste, even then.
