The same problem with sandwiches and here photographers uses cardboard to keep cake layers dry and replace the sauce with shaving foam. Whipped cream is usually also replaced with shaving foam and toothpick is used to secure a cherry. When you buy French fries the look not so good as you see in the photo. Yes, there is a trick used to make perfect photos of fries. Kitchen sponge and toothpicks are used to secure fries. It’s really hard to make a photo of an ice-cream as it melts too fast. Instant mashed potatoes are usually used instead of ice-cream. Sounds crazy? Mashed potatoes are usually colored with food coloring. Moreover, photographers add aspirin to soft drinks to look them refreshing and fizzy.
As a bonus, you will learn how to make fake caviar and use it to decorate dishes. You will need vegetable oil, sriracha, agar-agar. Pour water into a pan, add sriracha and agar-agar and stir these ingredients. Simmer agar-agar and sriracha for two minutes. Take a tall glass and pour vegetable oil, put into the fridge and let cool. When the vegetable oil is cold, take a syringe and squeeze out spheres of the hot mixture into the cold oil. You will see bead shapes appearing that will sink to the bottom of the glass. To separate the oil from pearls wash them with some water.
