Во Франции прошла масштабная акция протеста «жёлтых жилетов», выступающих против повышения стоимости топлива. Манифестация состоялись несмотря на то, что в начале недели власти Франции ввели полугодовой мораторий на ряд запланированных с 1 января 2019 года законодательных инициатив, в том числе блокирующих рост цен на бензин и дизель.
Министр внутренних дел Франции Кристоф Кастанер сообщил о рекордном числе задержаний. В протестных манифестациях по всей стране приняли участие не менее 136 тыс. человек, порядка 10 тыс. из них — в Париже. По его словам, было произведено 1385 задержаний, по меньшей мере 976 человек заключены под стражу. Кроме того, известно о 118 пострадавших, в том числе 17 полицейских.
In France, there was a large-scale protest of "yellow vests" opposing the increase in the cost of fuel. The demonstration took place despite the fact that at the beginning of the week the French authorities introduced a six-month moratorium on a number of legislative initiatives planned from January 1, 2019, including blocking the growth of prices for gasoline and diesel.
The Minister of internal Affairs of France Christophe Castaner reported a record number of detentions. At least 136 thousand people took part in protest demonstrations across the country, about 10 thousand of them — in Paris. According to him, 1385 arrests were made, at least 976 people were detained. In addition, it is known about 118 victims, including 17 police officers.
