Michigander - Superglue (Live). An exclusive performance for Vevo DSCVR, the channel for the best in new music.
Michigander is the indie rock project of Jason Singer, the Grand Rapids native with the Midwestern-nice demeanor who, both onstage and off, exudes positive vibes. His lyrics run the gamut of emotions, but more often than not even his angstiest sentiments are bolstered by sunny guitar licks and sing-along refrains. Want a blast of dopamine? Check out the YouTube vid of a blissful Lollapalooza 2021 crowd happily returning every word of our guy’s “Let Down.” Even the gloomily-titled “Misery,” M’Gander’s most-streamed Spotify song to date, keeps the door open for a frustrated lover to taste appreciation somewhere down the line. Previously based in Detroit and currently using a Nashville area code, Singer moves forward on his own merit. Thanks to his sense of pop craft, Manchester Orchestra invited him to be both tour mate, and collaborator. Please get to know the chunky, wise, and Pixies-ish “In My Head.” Following the new musician rule of “always be making content,” Singer broke his leg exploring a California forest and turned it into the “Superglue” music video. Sure, it delayed a big tour by six months, but lemonade out of lemons, right? In April he released ‘Everything Will Be Ok Eventually,’ and moved forward another few notches. Singer calls the EP a “leveling up moment.” Watch this “Superglue” performance and you’ll realize that’s the truth.
