Russian composer, Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky composed the famous “Nutcracker Suite” in 1892 for the 2-act ballet “The Nutcracker”. The libretto is from E.T.A. Hoffmann’s story “The Nutcracker and the Mouse King”. One of the Dances from “The Nutcracker” is the lively “Russian Dance: Trepak”. “Trepak” is a traditional Russian Dance, played in a presto tempo with tonic and dominant alternating chords.
