From her Instagram account to her music videos to her live performances, if Anna Sofia is in-frame, then she’s looking to shake up the audience a bit. Art-goth edginess has defined the Canadian teen’s look of late. Likewise, her compelling alt-pop has switched on the distortion, an artistic choice that’s rooted in expressing her emotions in an authentic way. From the title to the tunes, her new ‘LET ME OUT I’M FREE!’ EP hints at an innate struggle. “Caged Birds Don’t Sing” toes a similar thematic line.
