It’s no secret that the Brooklyn drill scene skews heavily male, but Young Devyn is here to crash the party. The East New York 19-year-old raps like she was born to share her thoughts with others - spitting hard rhymes that teem with ideas and opinions. Some tracks, like 2020’s “To You,” find Devyn flexin' impressive R&B vocals, too. That’s the kind of versatility that’ll quickly have everyone remembering your name. One of the hottest breakouts of the year is her “Straight To It.” Clocking in at just under two minutes, the quick-hitting drill gem with the machine-gun-fast flow went viral after she shared it on Instagram. Like, Nicki Minaj-repost level viral...as well as co-signs from the Hot 97 crew and actor Taraji P. Henson, too. What Devyn says started as "a fun freestyle, something for my fans,” has turned into a career-boosting hit. Strap in for the Ctrl take of “Straight To It.” It was like a rumbling earthquake.
