Between tweeting out takes on the NBA and 'Call of Duty,' Jamaal Jones makes music as ELHAE. The 30-year-old’s timeline has recently been filled with a mix of personal pride and fan love over his new ‘Aura III’ project. One listen will make you understand why it’s worth celebrating. Not only does this follow-up to 2017’s ‘Aura II’ EP boast rich alt-R&B, it’s also a clear return to the Atlanta artist’s roots in “trap soul." Jones took a personal hiatus between his 2019 ‘Trouble In Paradise' and 'Aura III.' As he sees it, the earlier record was an exploration to find a new “niche," and the new album finds him trying to "tap into what was familiar to me.” One of its many highlights is “My City,” which features some cool sax by Masego and will likely get lotsa street love with the car windows down this summer. We’ll be putting these studio performances of “My City” and “Face” on repeat a lot, too.
